    breathtaking views
    friendly staff
    tired facilities
    empty atmosphere

It’s not all bad, but it’s not all good

Staying in the charming Heritage Room, I appreciated the fantastic views and the efforts of the friendly staff, working hard amidst the hotel’s closing preparations.

Unfortunately, the facilities felt tired, and the emptiness of the hotel during our stay diminished a vibrant atmosphere.

spectacular location, nostalgic atmosphere, breathtaking views

The dining prices are outrageous for subpar buffet standards!!! Rooms need urgent refurbishment. they're small, outdated, and lack essential amenities like adequate ventilation!!! Seriously, a fan is a must for comfort!!!

    historical charm
    fine views
    diligent staff
    cramped room

I enjoyed my stay at Chateau Tongariro, admiring its historical charm and fine views of Mt Ngaurahoe. The staff worked diligently despite being under pressure as the closure date approached. The room felt a bit cramped for the price. A nice experience.

    delicious dinner
    stunning views

It was just a proper fit for strolling around in Mount Ruapehu with excellent value for money. Enjoyed delicious salmon and steak during dinner, which made our stay memorable. Consider asking for assistance with luggage at reception.

    excellent breakfast
    updated bathroom
    slow lounge service

We had a cozy stay with stunning views of the mountains and excellent breakfast that hit the spot! The updated bathroom was a nice surprise, but the lounge menu service could use some work. I'd return for those views!

    Charming, Charming, Charming

The views from our Heritage Room were amazing. We woke up to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Ruapehu right outside our window! The sauna and swimming pool offered the perfect relaxation after exploring the fine surroundings. Staff went above and beyond to, even in tough circumstances.
